The number of cross-border issues relating to private law are continuously growing. This applies to both business issues and private issues such as international trade and family relations.
Private citizens and enterprises to a greater extent need clarity regarding venue and choice of law. Since the Amsterdam Treaty of 1999, this legal area has been a focus of the EU, where several new legal instruments have seen the light of day. Various legal instruments of the EU, international conventions and national regulations raise a number of questions which practising lawyers and authorities ought to know and be aware of.
Due to the coronavirus, the conference was postponed till 2-4 June 2022 at Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University. This is the first conference within the framework of The European Association of Private International Law (EAPIL), which was actually set-up in 2019 and will be finally established in connection with the 2022 conference at Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University.
