Study environment

Library and reading rooms

Students at the Department of Law on the Aarhus University campus have 24-hour access to the Library of Social Sciences. Here you will find individual desks, group work facilities, relaxation areas and teaching rooms. The library is newly refurbished in a functional and contemporary style. The quiet individual desks in the reading rooms invite reflection and in-depth study while the group work facilities allow study groups to work together on assignments and presentations or revision.

At and around the department on campus, there are more than 500 reading room desks which students at the Department of Law and the rest of School of Business and Social Sciences are free to use.

Friday bars and parties

The Friday bar is where students at the Department of Law on campus come together. Here they meet Friday after Friday in the Social Sciences canteen.

Each semester, the law students’ society Juridisk Selskab organises four parties at the canteen where all law students are welcome. The parties are themed, and each year the Juridisk Selskab board organises a big annual party.

Klubben (Student Union) at the former Aarhus School of Business organises Friday bars at Fuglesangs Allé for all students at ASB.

Student associations

The Department of Law is renowned for its diverse and colourful social life. A variety of societies and associations cater for all tastes and both political and specific professional interests, for example by organising exciting talks on legal subjects. Other societies are more socially oriented.
