The personification of the international law department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark for many years, and the person behind the highly topical Section 20 of the Danish Constitution on the surrender of sovereignty.

Very few Danish legal professionals have left such a strong mark and played such a crucial role for today's society as Professor Max Sørensen, LLD, from Aarhus University. In addition to being one the leading legal scholars of his time, he was also the driving force behind the establishment of the Department of Political Science and Government at Aarhus University. Max Sørensen was not only an interdisciplinary capacity, but also a strong advocate of maintaining the distinctive features and independence of the disciplines.
