The seminar will deal with the general framework of the European Pillar of Social Rights and its claimed impact on workers and self-employed in the EU. In particular, the 12th principle on adequate social protection for workers and for self-employed (under 'comparable' conditions) will be analysed, looking at the actions of the European Commission to reach this objective. Furthermore, attention will be paid to collateral damages caused in the field of European Social Dialogue by the EPSR with cross-industry associations refusing to enter into negotiations for any legislative action at EU level in order to redefine social security and its scope of application.
